Help Us Save Lives and Bring Hope
"I continue to be involved in Campus Walks because it is important to remind people of the promise of a new day and that they are needed and loved. It is incredibly powerful to witness the sharing of stories and instilling of hoping in those who have lost or who are struggling." - Walker (Maryland)
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, the second leading cause of death among people ages 15-24.
Our top priority is the safety and health of our Walkers, Volunteers, and Staff. All events will be adhering to school, city, and state guidelines, and will follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), City Departments of Public Health, and the World Health Organization (WHO).
We know that this can be a difficult time, so please take a moment to view AFSP's Mental Health and COVID page for helpful resources and information.
Many of the Campus Walks will be virtual and all anyone is welcome to participate, so please search for an event and join us from wherever you are! Now, more than ever, we need to make suicide prevention and mental health awareness a national priority. Walking and raising funds is one way to make that happen. Thank you!
