Kellie was my Mom.  She marched to the beat of her own drum and was always so full of confidence.  She had a solution to every problem brought to her attention.  She was a collector of eclectic fashions and was never afraid to stand out.  She loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren.

Unfortunately, Kellie's mental health took a downward spiral following the death of her husband in December of 2021.  She began to isolate herself from her friends and family.  Even with being given all the resources to assist with healing from her loss, Kellie refused to accept help.  We saw the signs.  We did everything to try to get her to see it could get better.  In August, she made the decision to walk away from everything and take her own life, leaving her family with so many unanswered questions.

It took nearly eight months for her to be found.  Eight months of theories.  Eight months of wishing for a good outcome.  Eight months of just hoping to find an answer.

Her outcome could have been so different if she could have recognized how much love she was surrounded by during her darkest times.  If she had taken advantage of every resource provided to her, our family could still have her with us.  I will forever miss my Mom.

I truly hope her story can help someone else understand how important it is to take care of their own mental health and know that they aren't alone in their fight.
