September is National Suicide Awareness Month and at BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Hospital, we believe in supporting the causes that are close to our Associates’ hearts. During this month of awareness, we will be participating in many socially distancing-friendly events, including supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention as a regional sponsor to their Out of Darkness Community Walks.
Why is this so close to our hearts? Veterinary professionals have one of the highest rates of suicide among many professions. And while our patients may be furry (or scaly or feathery!), the wellbeing of our Associates has always been a top priority. We will not stop fighting for them or spreading the message until this tragedy ends.
