Join us to help save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

The Twin Cities Out of the Darkness Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we care about and love.

Important Walk Day Information

Register Online: Please register online before walk day - this will keep crowding to a minimum and get you through check in much faster. For those that are unable to register in advance there will be QR codes placed around the event that will take you to a mobile friendly and simplified registration process. If you have checks or cash to bring on the day of the event, we will have a small station under the pavilion to collect those donations. 2024 Walk t-shirts will be available to pick up on Sunday for individuals that have raised $150 by the day of the walk.

Program Overview: We are thrilled to be bringing back a formal opening program which will begin at 10:30 a.m., including our Honor Bead Ceremony. We will begin walking around the lake immediately following the Bead Ceremony. The walk route is just under 3 miles and should take about one hour. The Community Resource Fair and Family Activitites area will be open until 2 p.m. As always, free memorial beads will be available on Walk Day.

The program will be ASL interpreted by a CDI.

Resource Fair: There will be a resource fair with event related vendors and organizations as well as a family activity center and food trucks, including Minne-Scoop-ta ice cream, Sizzling Wagon and Thai Thai Street Food. And new for 2024 SunBean Coffee will be on-site selling excellent coffee and morning treats until 10:30 a.m. (credit card only). We will also have some select AFSP branded merchandise for sale as well.  Please join us before you walk and after for food, family fun and wonderful resources.
