DAY OF LOGISTICS

WALK ROUTE

The full walk route is ~2 miles. We will have 2 shortcut routes that are .5 mile or 1 mile in length.
We will begin walking immediately following the opening ceremony at 11:30 AM.
Please arrive early for activities at the park between 9-11:30 AM.

*Memorial Signs will be placed at the very beginning of the walk*

AKSARBEN PARKING

Parking in Aksarben is free of charge. There is street parking and garage parking.
Please plan to arrive early to secure parking.

When you arrive at Stinson Park, there are many areas to explore.
If you need to turn in cash or check donations or collect a t-shirt, please go to Registration at the Northeast corner of the park to start. 
There will be QR codes to register and donate online around the park.
We will have volunteers around the park helping to direct you.

Helpful Reminders:

- Please bring photos or notes to display in the Memorial Tent 
- Bring Water. We will have a refillable water station.
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
- There will be limited general seating for those who need it.
- Friendly, leashed dogs are allowed.
- Walk Day T-Shirts are for those who raise $150 +.
- Other merchandise, including a limited-edition 20th Anniversary Shirt will be for sale.
- We will have a 20th Anniversary Sunflower Scavenger Hunt around the park. One winner will receive a free t-shirt.
- Food Trucks will be onsite.

FAQs

Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate.

We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!

 

If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?

The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150 by 09/28/2024.

If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150

 

How do I make an offline donation?

To send a donation by check, please complete the Offline Donation Form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Are dogs allowed?

Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the Omaha Walk.

How do I change my team status?

If you're already registered and looking to create a new team or join an existing one, simply log into your account and click "change team membership".

Can I register at the Walk? 

You can register or donate in-person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.
