Day of Details
Location: We will be setup at the corner of 5th Ave. NE and Bayshore Dr. NE at the Vinoy Park Mole near the "Truth" sculpture pictured below.
Parking: There is a large parking lot located in Vinoy park and metered parking surrounding the Downtown St. Petersburg area, the parking garages are a longer distance away from the park but are always available for you to use Sundail parking garage located at 117 2nd St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
Route: The walk takes place throughout Vinoy Park on the sidewalks and is under two miles in length. See route map below.
T-shirt pick-up: Individual walkers who raise $150 or more will receive an official AFSP event shirt, please pick-up at registration.
What to expect: The St. Petersburg Out of the Darkness Walk will be an experience of hope and healing for all affected by suicide. Walkers can also pick-up their honor beads to show their connection to the cause. (see below). There will be an opportunity to display pictures of loved ones on our memory line as well as fill out "I'm Walking For" bibs. Photo opportunities in front of the oversized Out of the Darkness yard signs.
Food & Beverage: Participants can enjoy water and light snacks.
Restrooms: Portable restrooms will be set up in the park. There are also public restrooms near the aquatic center.
Are dogs allowed? Yes! Friendly leashed dogs are welcomed at the St. Petersburg Walk.

FAQs
Is there a registration fee? There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate. We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt! |
If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt? The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150 by 11/09/2024. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150. |
How do I make an offline donation? To send a donation by check, please complete the Offline Donation Form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Are dogs allowed? Yes! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at St. Petersburg Walk.
How do I change my team status? If you're already registered and looking to create a new team or join an existing one, simply log into your account and click "change team membership". |
Can I register at the Walk? You can register or donate in-person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.
