According to the CDC's data on suicide risk within occupational groups, the construction and extraction industries were found to have the highest rate of suicide in the United States. Join us, as AFSP combines efforts with leaders in the Construction Industry for a Hike for Hope.
This is an event meant to engage the community members & the construction industry on the importance of mental health & suicide prevention.
Instead of a participation fee, please consider a donation to help break the stigma.

Check-In: 9:00 am - 10:00 am- Thank you for starting your day with us, for this important cause.

10:00 am Opening Address
10:15 am: The team that raises the most money will carry the AFSP Banner & start the Hike for Hope!
“Hike” options- Hike as little or as much as you like!
Main Hike (Paved Path) – 2.62 miles: Start at AFSP Tents to around large field/ carousel, around Lake Hession through Zoo and back to AFSP Tents.
Around Lake (Paved Path) – 1.20 miles
Through Zoo and back to AFSP Tents (Paved Path) – 1.21 miles
Around large field and carousel (Paved Path) – 0.68 miles
Hike options thru the woods are available as well. Trail options will be identified close to the Hike date, as trail conditions are weather-dependent.
Leashed Dogs are allowed.
Restrooms will be open
You are welcome to stay and enjoy the park. Picnic Tables are available. The park does NOT have grills, but you are allowed to bring your own.
The Trailside Museums & Zoo- is open, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
HIKER’S CAFÉ & STAND is open, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
