About the Team

“Save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.”

This is AFSP’s mission statement. AFSP saves lives and provides hope through research, education, and advocacy for the prevention of suicide and support to those affected by suicide.
 
Our Team AFSP Colorado plays its role in those efforts by allowing team members to combine their athletic pursuits with fundraising for a cause they care about. This is AFSP Colorado’s second year being a Charity Partner for the Colfax Marathon and is setting a goal to have 25 runners and raise $10,000 for AFSP.

As a team member, you will be part of a group of athletes committed to raising awareness, remembering our loved ones, and reflecting on our struggles. You will also demonstrate to others that you have the dedication, perseverance, and willingness to sacrifice necessary to complete the training for your race. Through your fundraising, you will help raise awareness of suicide and allow those that have lost a loved one to suicide and those that are struggling with suicidal thoughts themselves to know that they are not alone . . . to know that there is hope .. . hope for recovery from loss and hope to prevent future suicides.

If you want to be a part of Team AFSP Colorado but have not registered for the Colfax Marathon yet, please register first at https://www.runcolfax.org/. You can run in any of the Colfax Marathon races (Marathon, Half-Marathon, Marathon Relay, Urban 10 Miler, or Colfax 5K) to be a qualified member of Team AFSP Colorado.

There is no fundraising minimum just a suggested fundraising goal of $150.
