Hike with us to fight suicide!Date: 05/18/2025 Phil Bianco and Ken Gehringer |
The Construction Hike for Hope is an event meant to engage the construction industry on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. According to the CDC's data on suicide risk within occupational groups, the construction and extraction industries were found to to have the highest rate of suicide in the U.S.
We invite all to join us, you don't need to be part of the construction industry to participate in the hike!
Join us as we combine efforts across the state of New York with Hikes planned in April and May.
In lieu of a participation fee please consider a donation to help break the stigma.

Lace up your hiking boots and get ready to join us for our Construction Hike for Hope!
You will have the choice of hiking either a 4.2 mile or 6 mile trail at Sunken Meadow State Park to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Please note that these are hikes, not walks, and although you do not need to be an expert hiker, you need to be physically able to navigate the trails. The 4.2 mile hike is generally easy and mostly flat and perfect for beginners. The 6 mile hike is a bit more strenuous. The hikes are on loose dirt, gravel, rocks and sand that can be slippery, wet and uneven at times. Please be prepared for any weather situation as your safety is our top concern.
