Raising Awareness. Inspiring Hope. Building a Better Tomorrow.

Construction Hike for Hope is more than just a walk—it's a powerful step toward breaking the silence around mental health in the construction industry. This annual event is dedicated to raising awareness about the mental health challenges faced by construction workers, and the alarming rates of suicide in our trade.

The construction industry has one of the highest suicide rates among all professions. In fact, construction workers are nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than the general population. Long hours, physically demanding labor, job insecurity, and a persistent stigma around mental health contribute to a silent crisis that cannot be ignored.

BAC Local 1 WA-AK is proud and honored to host the Construction Hike for Hope. As a union built on solidarity, we believe it's our duty to stand up for the well-being of our members—not just on the jobsite, but in every aspect of life. This event is our way of saying: You are not alone. Help is here. Hope is real.

Join us as we hike together in unity—to remember those we've lost, to support those who are struggling, and to build a culture in construction where it's okay to talk about mental health and ask for help.

Together, we can raise awareness.
Together, we can inspire change.
Together, we can bring hope.
