The walk is rain or shine and fortunately the forecast looks prefect for Sunday!  Due to COVID, we are going to have a ½ hour for you to pick-up your shirt, view the quilts,  take some resources, purchase AFSP apparel. etc.… similar to registration without all the registration.  IF you are NOT turning in money at the walk, and you registered online then you are all done with registration and can go directly to the tables.  No need to check-in at all.


 Quilts/Beads/Resources/T-Shirt Pick-Up/Merchandise: 9:00 am

Walk Starts at 9:30 am


There is ample parking on site.


There are restrooms for your use.


We will have water and pre-packaged cookies for you.


Each table will have hand sanitizer on it.  We will have masks and gloves. 


We will have merchandise to purchase.


The Lifekeeper Memory Quilts will be on display. 


Honor Beads will be available.


We are very grateful that we can all gather together again in person.  To help us stop the spread of COVID-19, we ask that you stay home & NOT attend the event if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID.  Here is the link to the CDC’s Corona Virus Self-Checker.:

If you are unable to attend because of Corona, please let the walk chair know directly. We will happily mail you AFSP resources and your walk shirt if you qualified.  

Now, more than ever, it’s important to be there for one another and take steps to safeguard our mental health and prevent suicide.

Why Register?

Our community has always been the heart of the Out of the Darkness Walks. The global pandemic has impacted the emotional and economic well-being of many individuals and families, and left many of us to manage a variety of emotions, including feelings of uncertainty. We also know increases in suicide are not a foregone conclusion if we act now to mitigate risk and support the mental health of our friends, families, and neighbors. But we need your help. Every dollar you raise through the Out of the Darkness Walks allows AFSP to invest in life-saving research, education, advocacy, and support for those impacted by suicide. 

It’s more important than ever for us to stay connected. Though there are many unknowns, there are a few things we know for sure:

  1. You belong to a strong community united in an effort to fight suicide while showing up for yourself, recognizing and honoring those you love, raising awareness, educating communities, supporting one another, and sharing hope.
  2. We remain dedicated to providing you with opportunities to connect, heal, share stories, create impact, and show you that you are not alone.
  3. Mental Health and suicide prevention are more important than ever, and we’re confident that with your help we can reach more people than ever before.

Honor Beads

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their connection. There is an honor bead for everyone, whether you have lost a loved one, struggle personally, support a friend and/or family member, or all of the above. Learn more by watching our honor bead video.


The Out of the Darkness Experience is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.
