Walk Location: Veterans Memorial Park
Walk Start Time: 10:00 am

Registration and Check In from 9 am - 10 am- We offer ONLINE registration ONLY so please register before 9/10. Walk up regsitration will be done on your own device using a QR Code. If you raised the $150, head to the registration area and go to T-Shirt Pickup for your shirt while supplies last. If you need to turn in donations, you will do so at registration!

We will have a resource fair before and after the walk. We are also having a MEMORY TENT where you can display a photo of your loved one.  PLEASE ENSURE YOUR NAME IS ON IT AND RETRIEVE IT AT THE END.

We encourage you to ride TRAX if you are able. Parking for the walk can be found in the lots around the park, rodeo grounds and across the street in the vacant lot by the TRAX Station.  We will have law enforcement guiding traffic as you cross Redwood Road. The entrances to the park on 7800 south and 2200 west will be closed day of for walker safety.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

Event Committee and Day-of Walk volunteers are always needed and we cannot be successful without them! Thank you to all of those who siigned up!
 Our final meeting is on September 7th at 6:00 pm in the park pavillion.


Want to be a Resource Vendor?

We welcome non-profits and businesses to participate on the day of the walks as resource vendors.  As a vendor, your message must align with AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.WE HAVE FILLED OUR VENDOR FAIR:) Email to be a part of the event next year.

Fundraise to Help #StopSuicide

$150+ - Raise $150 by 09/10/2022 and receive the official Out of the Darkness Walk t-shirt!   Donations can be made to a team as a whole,  but the T-shirt and other incentives are based only on INDIVIDUAL fundraising.

Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to participate.


If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?
No. The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150


How do I make an offline donation?
To send a donation by check, please complete this form and send it with your check to the address provided.


Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!


Can I register at the Walk? Yes!  You can register in-person at the Walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

Can I bring my dog? Yes! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the walk.

On-Site Activities

Stop by the AFSP Store for merchandise, pick-up beads at the Honor Bead tent, and more! We accept CC and cash but change will not be made so please bring exact change. We will have select merch available.

Honor Beads

Honor Beads will be available on-site to show your connection(s) to the cause. These are free while supplies last!

Hope & Healing

Share messages of hope and remembrance. We will have a memory tent for you to display photos of your loved one. Please write your name on the back of the photo and remember to come pick it up after the event. We are not responsible for damage to the items due to weather so ensure your photo is a copy:)
