The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. Join the $988 for 988 Challenge for a VIP experience on Walk Day! 

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is live! To celebrate this great achievement in mental healthcare, we challenge our Out of the Darkness Walkers & Teams to raise $988 online before Monday, September 5 for VIP experience on Walk Day! Raise $988 from now until Monday, September 5 and we'll give your treat your team to the VIP experience including:  

  • Honor Bead delivery to your team site on walk day

  • Fast pass check-in and t-shirt* pick-up 

  • Snacks & drinks delivery 

  • AFSP swag for your team 

  • Special recognition on walk day 

*T-shirts only available for individual walkers who raise $150 or more.

Team Tent set-up on the front lawn of the Coliseum property starts at 6:30 am the morning of the walk.

$150+ - Raise $150 by 09/10/2022 and receive the official Out of the Darkness Walk t-shirt!   Donations can be made to a team as a whole,  but the T-shirt and other incentives are based only on INDIVIDUAL fundraising.

Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to participate.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, friendly, well-behaved, and leashed dogs are welcome! 


If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?
No. The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150


How do I make an offline donation?
To send a donation by check, please complete this form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!

Parking and Directions 
Free and ample parking is available at the MS Coast Coliseum off of Beach Blvd. The Coliseum is at the corner of Beach Blvd. and Beauvoir Rd. in Biloxi. Click here for Google Map directions. 


Can I register at the Walk? Yes!  You can register in-person at the Walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

Walk Route 
The walk begins at the south entrance of the Coliseum’s parking lot (Gate 1). We will cross over Highway 90 to the boardwalk and walk east on the boardwalk until the boardwalk ends. We will then turn around and walk back to the Coliseum. The total distance is 1.5 miles. (Restroom facilities will be available inside the Coliseum.)
