Thank you for joining us at the 2022 Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk!

It was a memorable day filled with smiles, hugs, laughter, and tears. Over 4,100 participants helped to raise nearly $777,000. With donations still coming in daily, we hope to reach our $800,000 goal by the end of the year.
The funds raised support suicide prevention education, research, advocacy, and outreach.

Donations will be accepted through December 31, 2022. Just click on the blue “DONATE” button at the top of this page.

Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk

Will you help save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide?

The Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk is a special event that provides
community, connection, healing, and hope for survivors of suicide loss and
those with lived experience.

By registering for the walk on 09/17/2022, you are joining a strong
community united in an effort to fight suicide while showing up for yourself,
recognizing and honoring those you love, raising awareness, educating
communities, supporting one another, and sharing hope.

Every dollar you raise through the Chicagoland Walk allows AFSP to invest in
life-saving research, education, advocacy, and support for those impacted by suicide.

In addition to the in-person walk, we will have a virtual option. The health and
safety of our participants, staff, and volunteers will be our top priorities as we
work with local authorities to make decisions about event details.
