Hello Friends!

We were so looking forward to hosting the 2nd Annual Paws for Prevention and Mental Health Awareness this Saturday, May 21st in Manchester. As we checked the weekend forecast, NH is expecting a heat wave, with a near record high of 97 degrees.

Hosting an event with our furry friends in these conditions is not advisable. It’s in the best interest of our two and four-legged friends that we are making the difficult decision to postpone at this time.

Mark Your Calendars and Join us:

10am to 12pm
Derryfield Park * Manchester

The health and safety of our volunteers, partners, supporters and pets is of the utmost importance to us. We hope you agree that this is the best course of action at this time.

Thank you in advance for your understanding. If you have any questions, please direct them to NH Area Director,
Shamera Simpson at ssimpson@afsp.org.

We hope to see you and your pets on June 5th!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we would like to invite you and your Pup to join us for the Second Annual New Hampshire Paws for Prevention!

We are partnering with local mental health and suicide prevention organizations to offer free resources, giveaways and more at this event. We are fun activities for you, your family, and your furry friends including a frisbee demonstration, children's crafts, mind jars, spinning prize wheel and more!

Although there is no fundraising minimum to participate, we have incentive items if you do! Everyone who raises or makes a donation of $25 or more will receive a 2022 Paws for Prevention Walk Shirt.

There will also be a special Read Along of the book Gizmo's Pawesome Guide to Mental Health, which takes an an upstream approach to support the mental health and wellness of youth ages 5 to 10 through Gizmo’s friendly messaging by:

1) Introducing the concept of mental health;
2) Sharing how one may care for their own mental health daily;
3) Identifying when one’s mental health needs attention and how to use healthy coping strategies;
4) Defining trusted adults and how to connect with them; and
5) Making a personalized mental health plan that can be used daily.
