The New York City Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love.

Every dollar raised allows AFSP to invest in life-saving research, education, advocacy, and support for those impacted by suicide.

Make a Raffle Basket!

We invite you all to create a gift basket that we will raffle off at the Walk! All the money collected from your basket will go towards your fundraising.


Did your loved one enjoy baking? Create a basket with baking utensils, a box of cake mix, and an apron.

Was your loved one a huge movie fan?  Do a basket with different popcorn, 2 movie theater tickets, and candy.

Are you walking for yourself?  What do you love to do? Make a basket that represents you!


Include your team members or loved ones! Ask them to each contribute an item to the basket. All we ask is that you let us know what type of basket you will be doing.

We are so grateful to have Pier 17's Tin Building offering a 10% discount to all NYC Walkers on 10/22! The Tin Building will then donate the 10% towards the NYC Walk. Check out all the restaurants and stores that the Tin Building has to offer here!



When and where is the event taking place?
The roughly 3-mile walk is taking place on 10/22/2023 at Pier 17.

Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we encourage each participant to raise at least $150 to receive the official Walk t-shirt! Check out our full list of fundraising rewards below, for both individual walkers and teams.

If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?
No. The shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150.


Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to participate.


How do I register and set up my personal fundraising page?

How do I make an offline donation?
To send a donation by check, please complete this form and send it with your check to the address provided. Donations will be accepted through 12/31/2023.


Can I volunteer at the Walk?
Yes! To help with planning, please fill out our Walks Committee Application. To help on the day, please fill out our Day-of Volunteer Application.


Are dogs allowed at the Walk?
Yes - friendly, leashed dogs are welcome! We will have a tent and watering station for your pup. Join our Paws for Prevention team to meet and fundraise with other dog-lovers also dedicated to suicide prevention!
