The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

More Event Details:
Our 2023 walk route around the Sonoma State University Campus is 1.8 miles long. See map above.
Short-term parking permits are required and are $5 per day. Permits can be purchased on the day of the event at permit machines located in the parking lots (exact cash or credit card accepted), or online at https://pmb.csustan.edu/dailypermits/#!/permits. Parking Lot A, located to the west of the Lakes, Lots G and H, located to the east of the Lakes, and Lot L (by the Green Music Center), have the best access to the event. You can click here for driving directions or click here for public transit directions to the event (uses Google Maps, just enter your address for personalized directions).
Entering from Rohnert Park Expressway will bring you to Lot L first. If you park here you will take the path across the creek and the event will be to your right, just past the large lake. If you drive past The Green Music Center you will get to Lot G on your right and Lot H on your left. You will walk heading west from those lots to get to the event. If you enter from East Cotati Avenue, you will turn right at S. Redwood Drive and follow the curve around to Lot H on your right or Lot G on your left.
