FAQS

What time do I need to be there?

The event opens at 9 a.m. with resources, community partner booths, memorial activities, and more. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m., followed by the walk. You don't have to get there right at 9, but plan to leave enough time to park and get settled before the ceremony begins!

How do I get there?

The event is at Daimler Truck North America Headquarters, at 4555 N Channel Ave, Portland, 97217. Once you are in the vicinity, please follow volunteer directions, not your GPS. Parking is available off of N. Channel Ave -- see the map below for parking lots marked in orange. Yellow arrows denote the flow of traffic. N Port Center Road will be closed.

.

If you take public transit, the closest Trimet stop is Stop ID 115 (N. Anchor and Channel), which is served by the 72 and 85 bus lines. Visit https://trimet.org/home/planner to plan your trip.

What should I bring?

Plan to wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle, as the weather is predicted to be warm. You are welcome to bring pictures to post in the memorial garden, or signs to carry along the walk.

Do I need to check in when I get there?

You do not need to check in! If you have donations to drop off or a fundraiser t-shirt to pick up, head to the t-shirt pickup booth.

Do I have to register ahead of time? Can I bring someone with me who isn't registered?

It's very helpful for us if people pre-register, but it's not required! You can also register online on event day. If you’re able, please use your smartphone to register to help us reduce lines.

Can I bring my pet to the event?

Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome at the event. Please note that there will be amplified sound and a large crowd. Please pick up after your pet.

Is there food available?

There will be a coffee truck, as well as pizza, cotton candy, and hot dogs for sale.
