We are so grateful you joined us for the 2023 Atlantic-Cape Out of the Darkness Walk! We understand our walkers come to our Out of the Darkness walks for different reasons and we are thankful you chose to support AFSP. Your fundraising efforts allows us to continue to create a culture that is smart about mental health and build initiatives to further understand and prevent suicide.
More than 48,000 people die by suicide in the U.S. each year, making it the 11th leading cause of death. Through our research, education, advocacy, and loss support programs, AFSP has become the leading national organization dedicated to preventing loss of life by suicide.
Our vision is to build a world without suicide. That vision is not possible without your involvement. Thank you for your support of AFSP!

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

Fundraise to Help #StopSuicide$150+ - Raise $150 by 09/09/2023 and receive the official Out of the Darkness Walk t-shirt! * Donations can be made to a team as a whole, but the T-shirt and other incentives are based only on INDIVIDUAL fundraising. Like in the past, we are challenging our walk teams to raise $1000 or more before Friday, August 11th at 12PM to have their TEAM NAME printed on the back of the official Out of the Darkness Walk shirt. Having your team name printed on the shirt DOES NOT mean that everyone on your team will receive a shirt. Only those registered walkers who raise $150 or more by the day of the walk, September 9, will receive an official Out of the Darkness Walk shirt at the walk (pick-up only). Is there a fundraising minimum? |
Can I register at the Walk? Yes! You can register in-person at the Walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st. Are dogs allowed? Yes! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the walk. |
