Welcome to Shantay You Stay

Join us during Pride Month for our inaugural Shantay, You Stay: A Drag Show to Fight Suicide! This signature Drag Show, hosted by the Curbside Queens - Maine's #1 Traveling Drag Show - is a fundraising event designed to engage the LGBTQ community in the fight to prevent suicide, a leading cause of death. Funds raised from The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention events allow us to fund research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. We are also planning a much bigger and more fabulous event in recognition of Transgender Awareness Week in November, so be sure to Join the Notification List!

**PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are Limited. Tickets will be sold through Bolos’ Eventbrite Page HERE. Registering on this site allows you to fundraise for the event to help us reach our goal of $10,000.

Register for our upcoming virtual Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention in the LGBTQ Community
June 27th at 6:00pm

*AFSP’s Talk Saves Lives has long been one of the country’s leading suicide prevention education programs, covering the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight this leading cause of death. The newly updated module of this essential program, Talk Saves Lives™: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention in the LGBTQ Community gives participants essential and lifesaving understanding of topics including:

  • Suicide risk and its unique considerations in LGBTQ communities
  • Recognizing suicide risk factors and warning signs for LGBTQ people
  • Protective factors that can help lower the suicide rate
  • The latest research related to LGBTQ suicide prevention
  • How to seek and offer support for yourself or others
  • Crisis resources and services for the LGBTQ community
  • What communities can do to support LGBTQ people

We all have a role to play in preventing suicide, and those in the LGBTQ community may face additional challenges and barriers for help because of discriminatory factors. This new program informs more people of the best ways to provide caring and support to those who need it.

FAQs

If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?
No. The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $100. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $100. 

  

If I don't raise enough money, can I buy a t-shirt?
Maybe! We will plan to sell some t-shirts on site at the event but cannot guarantee availability. To guarantee a t-shirt, please meet your fundraising goal of $100.

  

How do I make an offline donation?
To send a donation by check, please complete this form and send it with your check to the address provided.

 

Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we strongly encourage each participant to set a $100 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official Shantay, You Stay T-Shirt!

  

Can I register at the Event? No!  Tickets are limited and you MUST purchase tickets through Eventbrite prior to the show.
