Visit the kids area, hang a picture of loved ones lost on the memorial wall, pick-up honor beads, visit vendor booths, purchase raffle tickets, purchase AFSP branded merch, and listen music by DJ AKachura

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

2023 Walk Shirt

$150+ - Raise $150 by 10/14/2023 and receive the official Out of the Darkness Walk t-shirt!   

$988+ Champion of Hope. Anyone walks registered for a walk in Texas who raises $988 will get an exclusive shirt designed by a walker in Texas! Why $988? Last summer the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline launched their new number nationwide, 988. If you or someone you know is crisis, you can call 988 and be connected with a crisis counselor. They’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

$1,000+ Walker Spotlight. Receive a shoutout on social media. 

 Donations can be made to a team as a whole,  but the T-shirt and other incentives are based only on INDIVIDUAL fundraising.

$1,500:  Team Spotlight. Raise $1,500 and get a spotlight for your team on social media.

Participate in the Resource Fair

Each year at the  Greater Bell County Walk we try to share local community resources with our attendees. Resources must fit within the AFSP Sponsors and Community Resource Terms and Conditions. If your organization fits within these terms and would like to participate, please complete our Resource Fair Application

Need Help Fundraising?

Read through our fundraising toolkit. It's our one place for you to find all the tools you will need to become a successful fundraiser! 


Create a FB Fundraiser through your account or it will not connect to your page! This is super easy in the app btw (wink wink) 


Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to participate.


If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?
No. The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150


How do I make an offline donation?
To send a donation by check, please complete this form and send it with your check to the address provided.


Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!


Can I register at the Walk? Yes!  You can register in-person at the Walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

Are dogs allowed? Yes! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the walk.


Parking, route, and other info will be updated as we get closer to Walk Day.

Honor Beads

Honor Beads will be available on-site to show your connection(s) to the cause.

Hope & Healing

Add your loved one's picture to the memory wall, fill out an I Walk For Bib, and a roll call sheet to have who you're walking for announced during the ceremony.
