Join Me in Supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
There is little to be said that I have not said before in this greeting that I write every year. I have been walking in this fundraiser for over a decade, and I am looking forward to another year's venture. I do this because I strongly believe in the fight against depression, and suicide is the final fatal symptom. I know many people who have lost loved ones- folks who bore the weight of their pain for too long. I walk for them; I raise money for them.
Since last year's fundraising, I lost my mother. While it was not to suicide, I felt overwhelming grief, which I know others have felt- and I know that the grief that comes along with suicide is even greater than what I am going through. My mother worked in mental health and addiction services, and I would walk with her almost every year. This year is for her, even though she left this world despite her own desire. And so, I invite you to make a contribution to a cause that is very important to me...
I am joining hundreds of thousands of people across the country who are walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walks to prevent suicide and support AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
Please help me reach my goal by clicking the "Donate" button on this page. All donations are 100% tax deductible and benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), funding research, education, advocacy, and support for those affected by suicide.
If you would like to donate by check, please download the offline donation form HERE and mail it with the check.
