The Jay Walkers as we join #TogetherToFightSuicide
This year we not only walk in memory of Jay Utz, who lost his battle with chronic depression on July 9, 2016, we walk on behalf of my dear friend April's partner, Austin Moore who passed away February 9, 2021.
We walk in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
We walk to raise awareness.
We walk to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide on behalf of the victims and the survivors.
We walk as a reminder that mental health is as important as physical health and the "why's" of suicide are both varied and complex.
We walk so you'll remember...
...remember that these young men were more than just one event. They were vibrant, brilliant, and most of all loved - loved as sons, loved as partners, brothers, uncles, nephews and friends.
We walk because they can't.
We walk because we have a voice and can make a difference.
