Early Registration & Fundraising Challenge
Your fundraising efforts spark the conversations that inform our communities of the importance of suicide prevention while creating the resources necessary for AFSP's research, education, advocacy, and support programs. An early start is the key to success, so we're providing some incentive for you to register and launch your efforts right away!
Register and raise $150 individually by August 31st*
Every participant who registers and raises $150 or more by August 31st will be eligible to receive an official Out of the Darkness Community Walk t-shirt, AND we'll mail you an AFSP essentials kit, filled with goodies to help you share your story and raise awareness in your community.
The kit will contain:
- HOPE stencil and pack of sidewalk chalk so you can share hope in your neighborhood
- You are Not Alone pin
- AFSP Sunglasses
- Out of the Darkness sunscreen stick to stay protected while you're spreading the word
- Out of the Darkness multi-colored wristband to start a conversation
- Together to Fight Suicide sticker
- Be the Voice temporary tattoos!
Team Captains! Build your team to a total of 6 team members AND raise $250 or more as a team by August 31st**
You're eligible to earn the individual gift when you raise $150 or more by August 31st, but we have a bonus offer for team captains, only! Recruit a team of 6 or more and raise at least $250 collectively, and you'll also be eligible for a limited edition Together To Fight Suicide Trucker Hat. This eco-friendly cap is a blend of hemp, cotton, and recycled polyester with a snap back closure. Photo coming soon.

*Each individual participant (including team captains) who raises $150 or more by end of business on August 31, 2021 will receive an AFSP essentials kit, shipped to the address provided upon registration. Please be sure to verify that your mailing address is up to date on your account. T-Shirts are distributed by local event organizers, typically the day of the walk. See your local walk page/emails for details about when to expect your t-shirt.
**The exclusive Together to Fight Suicide trucker cap will be awarded to the team captain only based on a combination of valid names and email addresses for 6 team members (including captain) and a team total raised of $250 or more by end of business on August 31, 2021. Team count and total raised requirements must both be met in order to qualify. Team members' email addresses subject to verification. The trucker cap will be shipped to the address team captain provided upon registration. Please be sure to verify that your mailing address is up to date on your account.
Offer valid for fall 2021- spring 2022 Out of the Darkness Community Walk registrations, only. T-shirts will be available for pick-up the day of event, only. Early registration/fundraising gifts will ship to all qualifying individuals and team captains the first week of September. Donations for fall walks are accepted through December 31st.
