About Paws for Prevention

Furry Friends * Frisbees * Family Fun * Free Food
Research has found that the bond between people and their pets can lower stress and feelings of loneliness while bringing comfort to their owners. We hope you and your furry friend(s) will join us at this fun event to raise awareness and support for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) mission and work to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Funds raised will help AFSP create a culture that is smart about mental health through vital research, educational and community programs, advocacy, and support for survivors of suicide loss.

Rocklands will be providing free food to all registered participants - while it lasts!

Can I bring my dog?

Ummm.... Yeah! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome. Dogs may go off of their leash when inside the dog park. We'll have lots of fun activities for pups and their humans. You can also pick up some doggy accessories at our AFSP store so you and your pup can rock some stylin' AFSP gear.

Is there a registration fee?

No. There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate.

We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official Paws for Prevention t-shirt!

Can I register at the event?

Yes! You can register or donate in person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until June 30th.

The event is rain or shine and would only be canceled in the instance of severe weather that would compromise the safety of our guests.

There will be a "Care Team" of volunteer mental health professionals who'll be on-site to talk to anyone who wants or needs support. You can find them in the "Hope & Healing" area or walking around the event. They will be wearing purple t-shirts that say "Care Team: Want to Talk?"

An ASL interpreter will be on stage for the Program presentation.

Seating will be available for those with accessibility needs.
