2022 Out of the Darkness Walk shirts will not be mailed this year, they will be available onsite at White River State Park for pick up on walk day (Saturday, September 10th).

 

Downtown Indy Construction 

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is currently reconstructing the I-65/I-70 North Split interchange in downtown Indianapolis. As a result, construction activity may impact some routes to the Indy Out of the Darkness Walk on September 10. For up-to-date project information, including detour maps and local street closure updates, visit northsplit.com or text “NORTHSPLIT” to 468311. 

 

As you travel to the Indy Out of the Darkness Walk, please slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

  • Join us for the 2nd Annual Illuminate 3.9K Walk & Family Event benefiting the Indiana Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Awareness. The event starts at 6:00pm and includes entertainment, food trucks, activities and games for the entire family. At approximately 8:00 pm, the 3.9K walk will begin through the Heartland Crossing Neighborhood and will conclude with a candle light stroll along holes 1, 2 and 9 of the golf course. There will be an auction/raffle and ongoing entertainment throughout the entire evening

As a Team Captain you play an essential part in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) efforts to create a world without suicide. Is there Parking?

 

Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to participate.

If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?
No. The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150

 

How do I make an offline donation?
To send a donation by check, please complete this form and send it with your check to the address provided.

 

Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!

 

Can I register at the Walk? Yes!  You can register in-person at the Walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

Can bring my dog? Yes!  Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the Walk.

 

Parking, route, and other info will be updated as we get closer to Walk Day.
