We are glad you will be joining us at the Oahu walk on September 9, 2023. Now more than ever it is important we come together as a community to focus on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. In the aftermath of the fires on Maui, we know that everyone in Hawaii is affected in some way and that tragic events may cause emotional distress. The Maui Wildfire Recovery Resources website is continually updated. We hope you find this resource helpful. (scan QR code below)

We look forward to seeing you at the Oahu walk. We have a supportive day planned with healing activities, resources and more.

Aloha and Mahalo,

Karen and Cat

Walk Route

Walk Route & Length: We will take a scenic route along South King St. to RIchards St. to South Beretania St. to Alapai St. The course is flat and distance is approximately 1.2 miles.

Parking: Public parking is FREE on the weekends and there is one underground parking lot you can use. The entrance to the main parking lot is at approximately 651 S. Beretania St. from the far left lane, just past Alapai St.  Take a ramp down into the underground lot and park in the metered stalls for free. Do not park in the stalls marked “reserved”.

Program Highlights: We are excited to feature special appearance by Augie T, musical artists Kamuela Kahoano and Mike Tulba, and Flow Kakou's Matt Del Rosario. Stay tuned for more details!

Remembrance Wall: We invite you to honor the memory of your loved by bringing a photo to add to our Remembrance Wall (please note that maximum size of photo is 8.5x11 letter size and photos will not be returned).

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.
