Show up between 9:30 and 2:00 PM, browse the resource table are, enjoy the children's activities, check out the AFSP branded merchandise, grab your honor bead colors and walk when the time is right for you and your group. Promote the WalkFollow the @OOTDWalks accounts on Facebook and Twitter. Share your fundraising page and post about the St. Louis Walk using the #OutoftheDarkness hashtag. Promote the walk by displaying a sign in your yard or a cling on your car. Submit a request for yard signs and car clings here.

"Why We Walk" Photos
Send your loved one's photo for our NEW "Why We Walk" digital photo display.
Every year, at our AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk, we have photographs of our loved ones on display. New this year - our loved ones' photos will be displayed digitally on a large screen.
Because our walk attendance has grown (and keeps growing each year), if Sue Powderly has created a poster for your loved one for a previous walk, please let her know that you would like it used again. She will not be redesigning past posters/collages. If you are new to the walk and would like to have a photograph of your loved one included at this year’s walk, please email a photo and put "Walk Photo" in the subject line, and include in the body of the email the person's name, and any brief message you'd like displayed with the photo to Sue at: afspwalkpics@gmail.com
Photo file type should be jpeg and a high enough resolution that it can be enlarged without getting grainy. If you would like, you can send more than one photo, and Sue will design a collage.
When you send your photo, you will receive a reply from Sue stating that she received it. If you don't receive a reply within 3 days, please resend. The deadline to submit photo(s) is Sept. 13, 2024, but earlier is always appreciated!

Is there a registration fee? There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate. We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt! |
If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt? The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150 by 09/22/2024. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150. |
How do I make an offline donation? To send a donation by check, please complete the Offline Donation Form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Are dogs allowed? Yes, dogs are allowed at this Walk.
How do I change my team status? If you're already registered and looking to create a new team or join an existing one, simply log into your account and click "change team membership". |
Can I register at the Walk? You can register or donate in-person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

Walk Day Activities
On-SiteCheck out the merchandise tent, photo booth, and resource tables. Visit our quilt booth to apply for a quilt block on the next Missouri Chapter Memory Quilt for a $5.00 donation. Are you a multi-year participant? Be sure to pick up your Alumni button along with the other swag. While you are at it, pick up your "I'm Walking For" button. And you can put all of your AFSP swag and community resource information in the NEW St. Louis OOTD swag bag. Bring your 4 - 11-year-old children to hear Gizmo's Pawsome Guide to Mental Health read-a-long story at 10:00 AM or 1:00 PM And stay to play in our family activities area with sensory bins, giant jenga, cornhole, rock painting and more.

Honor BeadsComplimentary Honor Beads will be available on-site to show your connection(s) to the cause. Be a participant in the St. Louis Honor Bead Ceremony taking place at 12:00 PM (Noon) the day of the walk. Submit the color you would like to represent here. |
