FAQs

Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate.

We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!

 

If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?

The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150 by 09/15/2024.

If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150

 

How do I make an offline donation?

To send a donation by check, please complete the Offline Donation Form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at Brooklyn / Queens Walk.

 

How do I change my team status?

If you're already registered and looking to create a new team or join an existing one, simply log into your account and click "change team membership".

Can I register at the Walk? 

You can register or donate in-person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

 

Will this event offer accessibility services? 

Yes, if you are in need of ASL interpretation or other accommodations, please email afsphannah@gmail.com at least one week prior to 09/15/2024.

 

Where in Cadman Plaza Park will the Walk begin?

Check-in and kickoff will be in the section of the park closest to Middagh St., near the William Jay Gaynor Memorial. 

 

How do I get to the walk?

Public Transit: The A/C at High St is the closest (exit at Cadman Plaza West). The 2/3 at Clark St, R at Court St, and 4/5 at Borough Hall are also close. Please be sure to check with the MTA for any service changes

Driving: There is no parking at Cadman Plaza Park but there is typically street parking nearby and some parking garages in the neighborhood.

 

What is the Walk distance and route?

The Walk is about 1 mile long circling Cadman Plaza Park and Columbus Park, starting at William Jay Gaynor Memorial.
