Every year, AFSP invests over $35 million dollars into research, education, awareness and advocacy programs.

Through nationwide Out of the Darkness Walks, those affected by suicide and those who support them raise awareness and much-needed funds for our mission to: save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. This sends the message that suicide is preventable and that no one is alone.

AFSP is dedicated to creating a culture that’s smart about mental health through education, loss and healing support, advocacy, and research. As a voluntary health organization, our grassroots efforts engage families, mental health professionals, community and local business leaders, schools and more in preventing suicide.
