KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
PARKING: Free Parking is available in Lot CRI 2, and Lot CRI 3 (Maps below). There is also parking available at the CR-1 parking deck across from the Marriott, though there is a charge for that. Please DO NOT park in lots other than listed above. There will be people stationed around the lots to assist as needed.

ARRIVAL: Registration will begin at 11:00am for participants 13 & older. You only need to stop at registration if: You raised $150 or more & are picking up your walk t-shirt, you have donations to turn in or both. If you do not have money to turn in and are not picking up a walk t-shirt, you may enter the concourse and check out the activities (details below). ENTER at GATE 3.
WALK ROUTE: The walk route will be around the concourse, which is paved and has a ramp for wheelchair & stroller access. We will do 3 loops around the concourse which is just over 1 mile. Those who wish to do more or less as they are able, please do so.
PETS: Only service animals are permitted at this venue.
ACTIVITIES:
- AFSP Resources and Loss & Healing, which includes a letter writing area.
- Kids area: mental health coloring pages & games
- HOPE letters: Share messages of HOPE for yourself & others by writing them on the large wooden letters
- Memory Wall: Bring a copy of a photo of your person(s) to share on our memory wall. Please note, photos will not be returned.
- AFSP Merch Store: Check out some cool AFSP and suicide prevention merchandise. Cash, credit card & cash app accepted.
- Honor Bead Table: Stop by our Honor Bead Tent and pick up your honor beads. Click here to learn more about our Honor Beads.
- Sponsors: Stop by, say hello & thanks to our sponsors while checking out their organizations.
- Resources: With a variety of resources, including therapy dogs, we hope you find what you need here and maybe even something you didn't know you needed

Food & Drink:
- Outside food is not permitted.
- Blasian food truck will be there selling some amazing eats!
- Bring a water bottle as water stations will available around the concourse.

FAQs
Is there a registration fee? There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate. We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt! |
If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt? The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150 by 11/02/2024. If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150. |
How do I make an offline donation? To send a donation by check, please complete the Offline Donation Form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Are dogs allowed? While friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at many events, the policy can vary by venue. Reach out to ootdwalk.nc.charlotte@gmail.com for information specific to the Charlotte Metro Walk.
How do I change my team status? If you're already registered and looking to create a new team or join an existing one, simply log into your account and click "change team membership". |
Can I register at the Walk? You can register or donate in-person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.
