FAQs

Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum to participate.

We strongly encourage each participant to set a $150 fundraising goal to help support AFSP's work to stop suicide and receive the official walk t-shirt!

 

If I raise enough money, will my whole team get a shirt?

The event shirts are only given to individuals who raise $150 by 10/05/2024.

If your whole team wants a shirt, each member must raise $150. If you raised $150 you can pick up your t-shirt at the "T-Shirt Pick UP" area of the Registration Tent.  Supplies of t-shirts are limited the day of the walk.

 

How do I make an offline donation?

To send a donation by check, please complete the Offline Donation Form and send it with your check to the address provided.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed at this Walk. 

 

How do I change my team status?

If you're already registered and looking to create a new team or join an existing one, simply log into your account and click "change team membership".

Can I register at the Walk? 

You can register or donate in-person at the Walk by scanning a QR code. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st. Registration and turning in donation are from 9:30-11:30am. 

 

 

 

Where can I find information on parking, the route, and the venue?

Parking is available at the Promedica Parking Garage for $5.  Volunteers will be helping with exiting the garage after the Walk.  All parking on city streets is free.

Walk Day Activities

Check out the merchandise tent, photo booth, and resource tables.

Our Walk route is a 1 mile route, but feel free to walk 2 or 3 times for the full 3 mile event.

We will have a Community Resource Fair before and after the Walk.  We have tables set up for area Mental Health providers and area organizations for additional resources.

 
Honor Beads

Complimentary Honor Beads will be available on-site to show your connection(s) to the cause.

Hope & Healing

Please bring a copy of a picture of your loved one lost to suicide to share on our Memory Tent to honor them. No larger than a 5x7 works best. You can write the name of your loved one lost to suicide on a piece of paper tat we will provide and attach it to the netting on the sides of the tent.  We will no longer read the names of loved ones lost at the opening ceremony.  We are giving you a different way to honor your loved one.

2 standing Yoga sessions provided by Kelly Sorah at 10:15 and 10:45am (in Promenade Park at the Northeast corner by the firepit)

50 / 50 raffle, Basket Raffle, AFSP merchandise for sale (located under the large tent), Kids Area; sidewalk chalk, TipTop the Clown, coloring pages, "Be The Voice" temporary tattoos, Pick up a Ribbon Wand to wave in memory of your loved one as we start to walk, a Nurse will be available for First Aid, Counselors will be on hand to help if someone needs a listening ear, Snacks and water will be available, Team Photo area will be available by the water.  We will take your picture and you can use our selfie frame or our # signs.
